When Mark and I visited Barcelona back in 1998, Sagrada Familia did not have a roof yet. It was a rainy day and I remember there were tarps everywhere. Rain splattered us as we moved around. Despite that, Mark caught the vision of the place. I didn't back then, unfortunately.
I do now. The cathedral is glorious inside, with columns that resemble tree trunks, and a beautiful play of light everywhere. These pictures below don't do it justice. We spent a couple of hours wandering around inside it today and now the kids and I all see what Mark has always seen in it. It's a place of wonder. Antonio Gaudi is now my favorite architect of all time.
